Women only, all welcome.

Church on the Street Ministries in Burnley. The project serves women affected by homelessness, poverty, addiction, domestic abuse, mental health challenges, and trauma—offering a safe, non-judgemental space where they can begin to heal and rebuild their lives, meet new friends and belong to a wider network of women who support women.

Through weekly support groups, one-to-one mentoring, practical assistance, and pastoral care, Women of Worth helps women rediscover their value, develop confidence, and take steps towards stability, recovery, and spiritual growth. Many of the team have lived experience, creating authentic relationships built on trust and compassion.

The programme meets women where they are and supports them holistically—emotionally, spiritually, and practically. Whether through crisis intervention, community outreach, or long-term support, Women of Worth believes every woman is made with purpose and is worthy of love, dignity, and a hopeful future. In a town where many feel forgotten, Women of Worth is a light in the darkness—helping women not just survive, but thrive.

The motivation behind Women of Worth was to create a safe space for women in Burnley, where support was lacking—especially for the marginalised and isolated. We open our doors to offer belonging, where women can feel safe, valued, and free to explore their strengths, skills, and God-given potential. Women facing addiction and physical or mental ill health need to see other women in recovery, showing that healing and transformation are possible.
The group consists of different sections, including arts and crafts sessions and motivational speakers who inspire and encourage. We facilitate a space where women can explore leadership skills, and many naturally step up to help organise our yearly conference—an empowering event led by women, for women.
